What is a Società Benefit?
It is a company that, while carrying on an economic activity and besides sharing its profits, pursues one or more common-benefit purposes and operates responsibly, sustainably and transparently towards people, communities, places and the environment, cultural and social assets and activities, organisations and other stakeholders. The rules are set out in Italian Law no. 208 of 28 December 2015, article 1, paragraphs 376 to 384.
What are Refreesh's benefit corporation provisions?
There are three. This is a faithful translation; the Italian text is the authoritative version.
- The company identifies the person or persons responsible to whom the functions and tasks aimed at pursuing the common-benefit purposes are entrusted.
- The company prepares each year a report on the pursuit of the common benefit, attached to the financial statements, which includes the information required by law for such a report. The annual report is made public through the company's website (www.refreesh.it) and in any other form the Impact Officer may consider useful to maximise transparency.
- The impact generated by pursuing the common-benefit purposes will be assessed by the company on the basis of the assessment standards and legal provisions in force at the time.
What common-benefit purposes does Refreesh pursue?
A positive impact on society and the environment, in four stated ways.
- Carton only
- We use carton bottles exclusively, sustainable and recyclable, to reduce the environmental impact of our campaigns.
- Water given away
- We hand the water out to people for free: every carton is water given to the community.
- Water projects
- We are committed to contributing to water projects in places where water is scarce. It is a commitment: when there are concrete projects, we will report them here with their figures.
- Transparency
- We operate responsibly, sustainably and transparently towards people, places, the environment and other stakeholders.
Where is the annual impact report?
It will be published on this page. Each year the report describes how we pursued the common benefit; it is attached to the financial statements and assesses impact against the assessment standards and rules in force.
It is not published here yet: when it is, you will find it at this point, ready to download.
